My offering for this Sacred Mother Retreat was born from profound loss and a deep commitment to finding purpose in pain through service love and remembrance. After the sudden death of my beloved 20-year-old son Lance from accidental fentanyl poisoning in 2022, my world shattered. In the wake of this loss, a sojourn to Bali became a sacred time for remembering and mourning my son.
In the depths of my grief I discovered that honoring my son and all of our children through service created meaning and healing in my own heart. My yoga practices and Grief and Love retreats now embody that purpose.
I have found that when we come together in community a space of profound love and radical acceptance can emerge where grief is welcomed and healing and transformation become possible. I offer this work in honor of Lance and the many lives lost to the fentanyl and opioid epidemic and as a living practice of what she calls making space for grace.
